This series focuses on the training, culture, and experience of recruits at the Victoria Police Academy. This is Klint''s story.
Klint was looking for more variety and less routine when he left his job as an ice cream maker to pursue a career with Victoria Police. “I felt like I wanted something a bit more dynamic, exciting and challenging.”
The Academy has given Klint a taste of what his future may look like. “I was initially drawn to the more tactical side of policing. My hobbies are doing martial arts, going to the gym. But since being here at Victoria Police Academy, I've learned that there is so much that you can do”.

No Offense but this makes sense. But reality the police (Not All) have no idea how to verbally speak to a traumatised woman or man. Or is like CBT ?

I'm currently in year 12 and hopefully gonna join the police academy next year
I have a Victorian police officer family friend who came over and told me to get a degree first or occupy yourself in some other productive way. I asked him why and he said "I know they say they'll take you at the academy at 18 years of age, but do you really think we'll give a weapon capable of taking multiple lives to a teenager? You're chances of getting in at 18 with a diploma is very rare". He had a point, in a fit of rage, we can easily make harmful decisions that could have been prevented, if we had time to mature.
I'm only in year 10, I'm also hoping to get into vic police, but I'll probably go to Uni first as it could do me some good in my police career down the line. Just make good decisions.
Agree with you brother. On both points. 18 is way too young and life experience is required.
